Two free photo manipulation programs (continued)
Here's how the developers describe PhotoFiltre:
PhotoFiltre is a complete image retouching program. It allows you to do simple or advanced adjustments to an image and apply a vast range of filters on it. It is simple and intuitive to use, and has an easy learning curve. The toolbar, giving you access to the standard filters with just a few clicks, gives PhotoFiltre a robust look.
While the product, shown in Figure C, is not a full substitute for Photoshop or even Elements, it does run a wide number of filters and permits a lot of basic manipulation. Again, for a free product, it's well worth the money.

PhotoFiltre is available with a variety of translations, including English. Roll over picture for a larger image.
When giving products ratings, we have to take into account a lot of factors. Were this product not free, for example, and were we to put it side-by-side with either Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, it would have to get a relatively low rating in comparison to those strong and robust programs. But since this product is free, and given that it provides many solid photo manipulation features, we feel it's reasonable to give PhotoFiltre a mostly-because-it's-free 4 out of 5.
OUR RATING: 4 of 5
