Choose a color from the palette at the bottom. Type your text. It may take a few tries to find the correct size, color, and placement, as shown in Figure C.

Avoid frilly or busy fonts that will distract from the photo. You can change any of attributes while the text box is showing.

Once you click outside of the box you can no longer edit the text. This is a huge drawback in using Paint. On the plus side, you can change the font settings and immediately see how it will look and quickly change them until you find what looks best to you, as shown in Figure D.

Remember: Place the watermark so the photo can be enjoyed while making it difficult to crop it out of the picture!
