Connected Photographer's evaluation
Like Busch's previous book the author has included details on many of the Rebel's menus. However here's a warning to older Digital Rebel owners: this book is only for the XSi/450 model. If you own a different Rebel camera you'll be disappointed with this book.

David Busch's Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi/450D Guide to Digital SLR Photography by David D. Busch, published by Course Technology PTR, is 311 pages and has a retail price of $29.99. We give David Busch's Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi/450D Guide to Digital SLR Photography a rating of 4 out of 5.

OUR RATING: 4 of 5

Connected Photographer's evaluation
Lowrie's book isn't nearly as comprehensive (or pretty) as Busch's books. That said, we actually liked this book better because all the important information is presented in a tight, concise manner. Where you're going to spend time reading Busch's books, you're likely to spend more time taking pictures and using Lowrie's book as a reference. Plus, this is small enough to fit in a somewhat large camera bag, while the other two are definitely stay-at-home bookshelf books.

Canon EOS 30D Digital Field Guide by Charlotte K. Lowrie, published by Wiley, is 288 pages and has a retail price of $19.99. We give Canon EOS 30D Digital Field Guide a rating of 4 out of 5.

OUR RATING: 4 of 5
